1) Do I need any qualifications before I go on the course ?
A) The only qualifications you need is to be enthusiastic about dogs/grooming and a willingness to learn.
2) How many students do you train at one time ?
A) We have two trainers and therefore only train 2 students at a time. This gives you one-to-one tuition and
allows us to focus on your individual needs.
3) What time does the course start ?
A) All courses run from 10.00am to 4.00pm approximately excluding Wednesday which is a day off.
4) What do we get during the time spent with you ?
A) On the 1 Star course the student works through the correct procedure of bathing, drying and grooming.
A photograph and certificate is presented to each student.
On the 2 Star course, depending on the breed you wish to trim, basic scissor work and clipping will be given
however bear in mind this is not for the beginner. A photograph, certificate and initial Starter pack worth £150
will be presented to each student.
On the 3 Star course you will be constantly assessed using documented evidence. Video evidence will be taken
to be used for training purposes and to identify your training needs. Photography is also used to help with your training. You will have 2 assessment dogs and a written exam.

5) Will I get a certificate ?
A) Yes - providing you are successful in achieving the required standard of AllBreed Grooming Academy assessments.
6) What benefit is the certificate ?
A) One of the recognised certificates in Dog Grooming is the C&G 7750 and to obtain this it is suggested
that you have i minimum of 15 months in the field. The certificate that you will obtain on our course will give
you a good basic knowledge to help you towards achieving the C&G award.
7) How many dogs will I be able to trim when I have completed the course ?
A) This will depend on your individual ability and desire to succeed but realistically 2-4 dogs a day is an
achievable target after completion of the 3 Star course.
8) Is accommodation available ?
A) We have a variety of local B&B's and hotels. Please refer to the accommodation section within the
Academy Website.
9) Can the 20 day course be split over a number of weeks ?
A) Yes- however we feel that you must attend at least 8 days on block to ensure the training is beneficial
to the student.
10) Do you work on Saturdays ?
A) You are not required to attend on a Saturday however if additional training or assistance is needed the
Grooming Centre is open and we are available to help. Also if you are unable to attend over a 5 week period
we can schedule Saturdays to reduce the overall length of the course.
